Welcome to the web site for the Eastleigh (Wells Place) Duke of Edinburgh's Award Open Centre located in the Wells Place Centre, Eastleigh, Hampshire.
We are the only Open Award Centre in Eastleigh and the unit is run by a handful of volunteers.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is open to all young people between the ages of 131/2 and 25 in the area.
At the Open Award Centre are extremely proud of our history; we have a 100% success rate over the almost 15 years the group has been running. We maintain high standards of training both for participants and leaders. In addition we like to keep the running of the group as informal as possible and pass on the responsibility of your Award to the participant with help as needed.
If you already belong to another local group maybe at your school or college DID YOU KNOW you can change groups without having to buy a new record book? Why not come along one evening just to see what you think with no obligation. Even if you are outside the Hampshire Operating Authority!
On these pages you will discover more about the award and what the group gets up to.
Participants have come from Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford, Bishopstoke, Fair Oak, Winchester, Sarisbury Green, Colden Common, Hedge End, Romsey, Bishops Waltham, Upham and Southampton.
